At our weekly support meetings we offer a Childrens Program, led by Early Childhood Educators (RECE). We are certified in HIGH FIVE training and are currently working on our HIGH FIVE accreditation (http://highfive.org/). We provide a safe, encouraging and positive environment for the children to be accepted, learn, have fun and build friendships. Many of our children have endured changes, transitions and stressful situations in their young lives. We offer acceptance, patience, encouragement and support!
Our Core Values
INCITE A Single Moms Support Group has 8 Core Values that we encourage and focus on throughout the school year. These Core Values are inspired from the 40 Developmental Assets from The Search Institute, the leading innovator in discovering what children and adolescents need to become caring, healthy, and responsible adults. www.search-institute.org.
We tell our children that they are "Super Kids"!
Our 8 Core Values are:
"I am a Super Kid!"
Throughout the school year, weekly the program consists of a focus on one of our eight core values, an enrichment component, fitness activities, a snack and fun play.
A Typical School Year Program:
6:00-6:50: Free Play (crafts, games, toys, books, music)
Thank you to Halton Region for donating a grant to our Children's Program!
"Congratulations on your new venture! I read the article in the Spectator and forwarded the information to my teaching partner and the principal. We all feel that the opportunities you are offering through 'Incite' could really benefit some of our single mom families here at our school."
"Beth, I think its great for the Moms and their children to have Monday night as a social and fun evening, with a chance to interact with others and your group to assist them. I am so positive that INCITE is providing a valuable resource!"
"I just wanted to say Thank You again for setting up tonight. The young leaders-in-training are clearly very intelligent, responsible young women and will be very successful in the future. I was very impressed with their maturity and their ambition to want to succeed in life. Their questions were very well thought out and they followed most of the career planning suggestions I mentioned. Their questions ranged from "how to get bursaries for university", right up to "how do I manage to eat healthy and stay fit while balancing my profession". This is a great sign that they're thinking about having a strong, healthy future in all areas of life. They are on great paths with bright futures! Clearly incite has done a great job forming these young women.
Thank You again for letting me take part in such a wonderful program,"
